As a pet friendly hotel and brand, it’s no surprise that some of our favorite guests walk on all fours! If you have any questions regarding our policy, or are interested in booking a pet friendly room, please call our friendly Guest Services team at (212) 695-0003, or book directly at executivehotels.net. To plan for your next stay, here is Executive Hotel Le Soleil’s guide to dog friendly spots in New York City!
1) Central Park
As one of the most iconic parks in the world, Central Park should be on your list for dog friendly spots in New York City. Just a ten minute walk from us at Executive Hotel Le Soleil New York, this classic walk will have you and your furry friend feeling refreshed and exercised. There are many sections of the park to explore, as well as dog friendly water fountains, twenty three off-leash areas and multiple waste containers along the way.
2) Madison Square Park Dog Run
Just a fifteen minute walk from the Executive Hotel Le Soleil New York, venture to Madison Square Park Dog Run, also known by locals as “Jemmy’s Run”. With ample seating and shady areas, the park is smaller when compared to Central Park, however water is available for dogs in the warmer months, and double entry gates allow you to take comfort in knowing that your dog cannot escape the park without you.
3) Exciting City Streets
Leashed strolls in the heart of New York City can’t be beat! There is lots to see (and smell), and many storefronts and cafes are supportive of pet friendly visits. Time to grab that morning coffee and take in the sights on foot, with plenty of little parks to visit along the way. It is important to consider the personality of your dog when visiting New York City, as certain areas that are considered to be tourist attractions can be overwhelming for some dogs.
4) Brooklyn Bridge
A great way to make memories with your best friend is to walk with them across the iconic Brooklyn bridge! Connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn, this popular walk takes twenty to forty minutes to complete. Executive Hotel Le Soleil New York is a fifteen minute cab ride away, or an hour walk if you and your canine are feeling adventurous.
5) New York City Subway
While not exactly a destination, the New York City Subway allows transportation between four of the five boroughs. Small dogs are allowed on the subway, although they must be safely enclosed either in a carrier or some form of bag. This can be a great and cost effective way to see other exciting parts of New York, and to visit other areas that you may have heard about prior to your stay with us.
6) Your Cozy Bed Awaits
After a long day of adventure, it’s time to relax! Our “Little guests” have the option of a doggy bed, or snuggling in with you, as you both overlook the exciting landscapes of the Big Apple. When you stay with us, don’t forget to snap some pics of your stay, and tag us on social media so we can see you enjoying your time with us! Any questions? Contact us at the number provided above. Happy travels!
